Our Story

So I guess for those that don't know mine and Mo's entire background, I will fill you in!

This just goes to show that the Lord is in control of all:

Mo is from a small rural town in Kentucky. He grew up on a farm with his 4 other brothers and sisters - they were wild and crazy kids and pretty much did anything their little hearts desired on their huge family farm.
I grew up in Indiana in a small rural town - I drifted back and forth from town to town around that general area, but yes I was born and raised a Hoosier! Holla y'all! My parents divorced when I was 5 and I ended up living with my Dad and Stepmom until I was 15.
Mo and I grew up about 2-3 hours of each other generally for our entire lives. So where did we meet?

St. Croix, US Virgin Islands baby!

Wierd, I know, right?

So how did this happen? Well around age 15 I really started missing my mom who lived in St. Croix. So I made this big life decision to move to St. Croix and live with my mom and Stepdad!

I had lived there for about 2 or 3 years when I met Mo! His family moved down to St. Croix from Kentucky and alas, we met and instantly fell in love - I was in my senior year of high school and after some very deep and truthful conversations we realized that we didn't want to end our relationship just because I was moving to Florida to go to college. So he made the decision to move with me and be by my side from then on!

We lived in Florida for a year and then moved here to Louisiana to attend LSU. My parents recommended it as that is where my stepdad went to school and he was from this area, so we thought, hey why not!

As I look back on this time I am amazed at how much Mo and I have both changed and grown in the Lord over the past few years. While we never faultered in our love and commitment to one another, I was a different person back then, but I know that my sins have been washed away and I am completely forgiven for any mistakes I made and it is so refreshing to be able to know that!
Soooooo! On May 13, 2005 Mo asked me to be his wife in front of a table of our family and friends after dinner!

Of course I said yes and we were married on February 25, 2006!

Yay! So married life has been wonderful and I am looking forward to many more years together!

Happy Halloween Everyone! Have a safe and fun evening!

Beginnings!

Holla y'all! First blog ever! The name is Katie and I guess this blog is about my life with my husband Mo living in the beautiful, but sometimes mundane city of Baton Rouge!

So my sweet and ever so enthusiastic friend Jen convinced me to start blogging! I guess I'll give it a shot and hopefully someone actually cares enough to read about the happenings in my life!

My sweet hubby Mo and I have been married for almost 21 months now and it is the best experience of my life! Marriage is such a learning experience, not only are you learning more and more about your spouse daily, but also many things about yourself - I'm sure most can agree that that part is not always fun ;) On a serious note though, I feel like the Lord is at work in me both as a wife and as woman of God. It is amazing!

Here is my beautiful sweet husband
I recently quit my job as a secretary at a corporate engineering firm to jump into an opportunity with my mom - she is a jeweler and creates her own silver jewelry by hand and has opened a store in Denham Springs! I guess my official title is manager - it is very exciting and terrifying at the same time because I have NO clue as to what I am doing, but hey it's a learning experience and I'm trusting in the Lord!

My man Mo aka Moses or Mohammed (no he is not Arab) works in the Athletic Department at LSU as a computer analyst - basically he fixes anything having to do with technology - it's a fun job for him and he works the games and gets to see those Tigers play in person - what better job could a guy ask for?!

Some things I love - My Jesus. My Husband. My Family and dear friends. Photography. Our Newlyweds bible study. Goofing off with my Husband. Snuggling. Playin chef. Making our home beautiful. Traveling. Shopping. Singing. Tubing. That silly feeling that you get when you're hanging out with the best of friends. Watching movies. Enjoying life. Chocolate Milk. The Office. Going out to eat with friends after church. My down comforter. Bath and Body Works. Tommy Nelson's Song of Solomon Series - it's amazing y'all! Christmas. Thanksgiving. Winter Clothes. St. Croix. Ok there's a whole lot more, but of course you can never think of these things when you actually have to!

Here are some pics from this weekend when we went to dinner and the movies with Jen and Grantley, I love love love them!! Praise the Lord for sweet friends that are as crazy and out there as you and your husband!

How fun was this weekend?!

Grant and Mo playing with remote control helicopters haha!

Sitting in the comfy chairs at Brookstone!

Here are some photos from a wedding I did last weekend!

Thanks for reading my very first blog ever! What'd ya think? I pray everyone has a fantastic week full of rest, health, and laughter!

God Bless!

Katie
